Hank A. Laskey, Ph.D., is the author of the textbook The Global Pharmaceutical Industry, Economic Structure, Government Regulation, and History; published in 2019.
Dr. Laskey retired as Academic Director of the MBA program in Pharmaceutical-Chemical Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, in 2003. He was instrumental in the college obtaining AACSB accreditation in 2001.
He has also held faculty positions at Bloomsburg University, Clemson University, Dekalb College, Florida International University, the University of Georgia, and Western Michigan University. He has been a Visiting Professor at INCAE (Instituto Centroamericano De Administracion De Empresas) in Alajuela, COSTA RICA, and Kaunus University of Technology in Panevezys, LITHUANIA, as well as Consultant to the Rector and Foreign Director at Karl Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, POLAND. He has presented lectures and seminars at the University of Quebec at Montreal, CANADA, and Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, AUSTRALIA, among others.
Since his retirement from academia, Dr. Laskey has been involved in the start-up of several companies in the related fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, foods, health care, and agriculture (medicinal botanicals). He has tended to specialize in the so-called “life sciences” industries, as they are related to the development of new classes of pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Laskey has taught specialized courses for Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, Motorola, and Schering-Plough. He has served as a consultant to Pfizer, Upjohn, and Whitehall Laboratories, as well as the World Trade Center, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the U.S. Department of Commerce,
Technology Administration, Office of Technology Policy.
Prior to his career in academia, Dr. Laskey held positions in the Office of Applied Technology of the Container Division of the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co., where he was the Senior Environmental Engineer for five (5) major aluminum can container plants located in Florida, Texas, California, North Carolina, and Wisconsin; and where he interacted personally with local solid waste and waste water sanitation officials.
iDr. Laskey also held the position of Assistant Director of Technical Services i n the Synthetic Fabrics Division of J.P. Stevens & Co., where he worked on synthetic fabrics and camouflage netting for the military, as well as substrate material (woven silicon) for circuit boards used in the computer industry.
At the Hunt-Wesson Foods Savannah Refinery, Dr. Laskey was Laboratory Technician of the quality control laboratory, and was later Supervisor of the PackagingPlant. promoted to packaging plant supervisor
As a young man, Dr. Laskey developed extensive knowledge of horticulture, animal science, and field crops (both corn and soybeans). He also has experience in both hardwood and pine forests and their related industries in north, central, and South America, as well as western and eastern Europe.
During his 30+ years as an educator, Dr. Laskey has published research articles in refereed journals in such journals as:

Dr. Laskey holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Master of Science degree in Management (Operations Research) from Clemson University, where he was a J. E. Sirrine Foundation fellow. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Marketing , with two (2) strong Doctoral Minors in, both Broadcast Advertising and in, Risk Management and Insurance from The University of Georgia.
Dr. Laskey was a licensed Insurance Agent for the Nationwide Insurance Company, practicing in the State of Georgia, prior to re-entering Graduate School to work on his Doctoral Degrees.
Dr. Laskey has been married to Dr. Rachel E. Laskey for more than 49 years (as of 2026). They have two (2) children,Chris and Ari, and two (2) grandsons, Erik and Jack.
